There is light at the end of the tunnel

School is going great. I can't believe that I am so close to becoming an RDH!!! Wow my dream is actually coming true. I absolutely love what I do and am so excited to get out into the real world.
We successfully put together a community project that we have been working on over the last two semesters. We decided to target the Hispanic population to educate them about oral hygiene and what the parent's role is to keeping their children healthy. It was such a success and we loved every minute of it. We put together a presentation and presented it to about 70 parents. This presentation was given during a huge volunteer service called Give Kids a Smile. GKAS gives underprivileged children an opportunity to receive free dental work for one day. It was a huge success. About 150 children were seen by volunteer dentists and hygienists. Our project will become a part of the annual GKAS project.
We had a great team that put this project together and I am so grateful for the wonderful friends that I have made through this whole journey.
I love my girls. Sarah Beth and Caitlin have been there through thick and thin. We all have supported eachother 100% and could not have gotten where we are without eachother.

Our project was presented in Spanish. Thank goodness for Melissa and Gloria for translating for us. I gave one presentation in english with a Spanish Powerpoint. I really have a strong desire to learn Spanish after this semester. It would be extremely beneficial.

Sarah Beth has seriously been my other half through this whole journey. I seriously think that we share a brain. We work so well together and study so well. We know when we need to eat or when the other needs to take a nap. We always get the same scores on our tests and miss the same answers. They probably think we cheat, but we just study the same. She has been so strong and we have supported eachother 100%. I am so glad that we have become the best of friends. That is the best thing about this program is that the girls we are with are so wonderful and we all really are so close and get a long so well. Love her!
